PUBLIC HEARING ANNOUNCEMENT
and Notice of Availability of an Environmental Assessment
for Proposed Improvements to
Unser Boulevard from Abrazo Road to Progress Boulevard;

The City of Rio Rancho has completed an Environmental Assessment (EA) for proposed improvements to Unser Boulevard from Abrazo Road to Progress Boulevard. The proposed project includes the widening of Unser Boulevard to four lanes, the addition of sidewalks and a recreational trail, and implementation of access management.

The EA will be the subject of a public hearing to be held at Rio Rancho City Hall Council Chambers on January 11, 2005. The public hearing will be held to present information about the proposed improvements, the findings of the EA, and to provide the public with an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed improvements to-Unser Boulevard. The hearing will also provide an opportunity for the public to comment on cultural resource findings and bicycle/pedestrian/equestrian issues related to these improvements. The first half-hour of the meeting will allow the public to review plans of the proposed improvements to Unser Boulevard and discuss issues with project team members. A public comment period will immediately follow the presentation.
